Mixed Emotions

I love the patch trend right now. You can't see all of the patches on this baseball jersey, but the back of it says "mixed emotions" (hence the title of this post). There is a pizza slice, a wanna be snapchat ghost, and some other cute pop culture emojis.
I got the smallest size so it would be a cropped fit on me, I thought it would look cuter that way paired with a high waist pencil skirt.

Weight Loss Surgery Video Update

Hey, guys! Long time no talk!

As some of you may know, I had weight loss surgery back in June. I finally took some outfit pictures last week. I am working on getting those posted after uploading this video. I've been a lot more active on youtube since deciding to have weight loss surgery, and you can see my journey starting from pre-op up until now on youtube channel.

STRAPPED

DSC_0648DSC_0647 DSC_0646

Tops and dresses with straps are everywhere right now. I like to wear this style without a bra; a strapless bra works too. The name of the game is to allow the straps to be the focus, not the bra. If you are a member of the Itty Bitty Committee, like I am, it makes going braless easier. Throw on some pasties to hide the nip and you're good.

Port Authority To Harlem

nyc, subway, harlem, plus size clothing, evans

I wore this outfit from Evans when we took the subway from Port Authority to Harlem. My honey got a touch up at the Barber shop, and we went to Sylvia's for some fried chicken, greens, mac and cheese and cornbread while we were there. If you are ever in Harlem, I HIGHLY suggest going to Sylvia's to eat. You will not be disappointed.

I knew I was going to want a comfortable outfit while we were in New York, so I got this sheer floral tunic and these leggings from Evans.  Before I discovered the plus size/blogging community, leggings and a tunic were my "go to" look a little more than I would like to admit. All I am saying is Thank God for growth in the plus-size clothing industry! Don't get me wrong, I still love a good legging and tunic when I am feeling lazy and just want to throw something on.

I need to step up my casual/lazy wear.

What do you wear when you don't feel like putting a lot of thought and effort into your outfit but still want to look stylish and cute?

Happy Friday!

[WHITE WIDE LEG PANT AND CREAM LONG LINE TUNIC: ASOS CURVE]

I wanted to do a quick recap from the Full Figured Fashion Week Curves at Sea All White Cruise.  Let me start by saying the view from outside of the yacht was breathtaking! The 3rd deck had seating with the most spectacular views of the city. If you plan to go to New York, I highly suggest taking a ride on the Hudson River at sunset, it's something you have to see at least once in your life.

There were beautiful women everywhere, dressed in all white, of all shapes, color, size, and age waiting to get the party started. There was an unspoken understanding between all of us; we wanted to have fun, be beautiful, and be free without judgment. Everyone was mingling, drinking, complementing, and taking pictures with one another; good vibes all around. The fashion show was grown and sexy; I need to get my hands on a few pieces that Ashley Stewart presented.

We danced, celebrated, and laughed the night away. I am grateful that I was able to attend the event, the sense of camaraderie was at an all time high. It was a pleasure meeting and networking with these beautiful women, I hope to do it again next year.

Do you have any plans to go? If so, start saving for next year guys. Seriously, you will love it!

MISS INDEPNDENCE

DSC_0718 [DRESS: REB DOLLS | SHAPEWEAR: HOOKED UP SHAPEWEAR | HEELS: TARGET]

DSC_0731

I wanted to do a quick post on what I wore for Independence Day. This floral Reb Dolls dress I bought @TheCurvyCon gave me LIFE, and I thought it was perfect for the Fourth of July. Even though the dress is pretty tight in the tummy area, I felt feminine and sexy in it. You could NOT tell me anything about myself.

I have to give Hooked Up Shapewear their props here as well. This shapewear holds you in nice and tight; it's not constraining and gave me the confidence I needed. The best part? There is no VPL (visible panty line)! That was an important selling point for me, and the fact that I was able to try it on at #TheCurvyCon sealed the deal. I usually cannot wear high-waisted shapewear because it usually gives me major VPL but not with Hooked Up shapewear, it holds your stomach in, smooth's out the back fat and is pretty much seamless. The only thing is;  it is not bathroom friendly, but it's worth it, I promise!

Stay tuned for more deets on The Curvy Con & FFFweek.
